Yesterday I went to Versailles. Its only about 30 min outside of Paris and you can take the RER to get there. Today Versailles sits right in the middle of a Paris suburb but in the past it was out in the countryside.
We went through every part that was open, lots of sections are closed for restoration projects. We saw the Kings, Queens, the Dauphins, and the Daughters Apartments. I did not take to many pictures inside, because you couldn’t use a flash.
We walked all through the gardens too. Its just barely spring, so nothing is in bloom. I may come back to see it when everything is alive again. There are something like 30 different fountains at Versailles. The only run them during the summer at certain times, so I definitely want to come back to see them in action.
I’ll make a seperate post later about Trianon which is where Marie Attiobnite lived instead of living in the place. If you click the picture it will take you to flickr to see a couple more pictures.
